AssistiveTouch can also be added to the Accessibility Shortcut for quick access from Control Centre, or you can use the side or Home button. And if you have an Apple Watch Series 4 device or later, you can turn on AssistiveTouch on your Apple Watch.
The Pressy app is set up to handle a few default actions. A short click toggles the flashlight. A long click toggles silent mode. Double click takes a photo. Pressy can be customized to fit your needs, so you can turn it into anything from an emergency button to a voice recorder activator.
Cheap physical button for your audio hole

Once you've assessed ports and peripherals, consider your home setup. Where will you put the KVM box? How long do the cables need to be to keep your space de-cluttered? Will you be able to press a button on the KVM to switch PCs, or do you need a remote? If you need a remote, do you want a wireless one, or will a wired unit do (connected to the KVM switch by a cable)? To help walk you through it, we tested six basic KVMs for ease of use and setup.
The major con is the lack of remote, meaning you can switch between PCs only through a button on the device. (As a result, you would need to have the KVM chassis situated somewhere easy to access.) That might create some clutter in your work area, especially factoring in the two input cables per computer (HDMI, USB-B). After you add in four peripherals cords and a monitor, this little box could have up to nine cords jutting out on both sides for you to wrangle. Also, the USB 2.0 nature of the USB ports is fine for connected peripherals like a keyboard, mouse, or printer, but we wouldn't use these ports for external storage (especially portable drives that need USB 3.0 speeds, and power over the USB port).
On the downside, the IOGear has just two USB ports, whereas the other KVMs we tested all had three or more. If you plan on connecting only a keyboard and mouse, this is fine. Another con is the lack of physical switching options. It comes with just a wired remote (no wireless remote, button on the chassis, or hotkey option), which feels a little limiting given the price.
This model has audio- and microphone-specific input cabling, and it was the only KVM we tested that had them. While the computer audio came through in our testing without attaching the audio-specific cable (with the audio signal traveling over the HDMI, like all the other KVMs), if you have particular line-level audio or microphone needs this would be the kind of KVM to go with. Just make sure to check your PCs have the ports necessary to plug in. (The desktop mini-PCs we tested with, for example, did not have discrete audio jacks, expecting the audio signal to travel over HDMI!)
At $109.99 and four stars on Amazon, this HDMI 2 Port Dual Monitor KVM Switch by brand CKL(Opens in a new window) looks like a solid option. It has three USB ports, an audio jack, and a microphone jack. For switching, you can press a button on the KVM or use an included wired remote. CKL offers nine variations on this KVM, based on the cords used to connect the PCs (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA) and the number of computers and monitors you have, including some three-monitor KVMs(Opens in a new window).
A software KVM can offer distinct benefits over a hardware solution. You can avoid the tangled web of cables, as well as switch between or among PCs through hotkeys or an app, rather than pressing a physical button (although some hardware KVMs offer hotkey-based switching, as well).
The stereo speakers and microphones built into your Surface let you listen to music and videos, make phone calls, and record audio. Or, you can connect your favorite USB and Bluetooth accessories like speakers, a mic, or a headset.
Audio accessories: Adjust the volume on the headset, speakers, phone, or other audio accessory, or in the software included with the accessory. To learn more, check the info that came with your accessory or visit the manufacturer's website.
If the sound quality coming from your speakers or an audio accessory isn't good, it's possible the audio recording itself isn't of good quality. Try listening to the same recording on a different device.
iPhone SE 2022 is essentially a modern phone in old design, and the physical home button is one of the old features that allows you to quickly unlock your phone or go back to your home screen. This is the design language dated back to the last model, released in 2020, and then the iPhone 8, which came out in 2017. For those who are reluctant to give up iPhone with Touch ID or feel inconvenient to use their phone with swipes, this is a comfortable design and familiar one.
This is my favorite approach because it's so convenient and it doesn't require any additional physical controls. To set this up in the Pinscape Config Tool, go to the button assignment section, and read the on-screen instructions for setting up a Shift button.
Lambda users will just hit the physical / web page button anytime they have a doubt something is filtered, and leave it like this. If you trust any meatbag to be responsible enough to reset the physical switch, you already lost. At least with a webpage, the filtering can be re-enabled after a timeout.
If you go to the admin page for the Pi-hole there is literally an option to disable Pi-hole for indefinitely, 15 minutes, 30, or custom. Not sure why a button would be needed but that is just me. Odd that you Mac
When using Digital Audio Workstations and similar apps such as samplers etc, it is recommended you convert any sound files you wish to import to use the same sample rate as the one you are using for JACK. Many apps let you import and use sound files of different sample rates to the one you are running JACK with but then attempt to resample the audio 'on-the-fly' and this leads to xruns if your CPU cannot keep up.
You can check the sample rate of audio files using your favourite media player such as smplayer (push CTRL+I when playing your file) or VLC (push CTRL+J) or you can find out from the terminal using mediainfo. soundkonverter and XCFA are good tools for batch conversion of audio files.
Ensure that your audio driver is not sharing an IRQ with another device. Fixing this can be as simple as changing which port a USB audio device is using, but otherwise see this guide to fixing IRQ conflicts.
I have a cheap Bluetooth headset, that after switching on, lets any device connect to it. Unless there is an audio jack connected. So I simply cut one from an old one headphone, and use it for this purpose.
The Samsung HW-Q930B is a 9.1.4 bar released in 2022 as a more affordable alternative to the premium Samsung HW-Q990B. It's much smaller in size than the manufacturer's flagship model. However, it still comes with a dedicated subwoofer to bring plenty of rumble in the bass, as well as rear speakers with a new design that maximizes immersive audio formats like Dolby Atmos. While it lacks Auto EQ room correction to adjust the subwoofer's output, its SpaceFit Sound feature still allows you to optimize the bar's audio reproduction based on your room's unique acoustics. There are lots of other customization tools on hand, too, including Samsung's Q-Symphony, which pairs the bar with certain compatible TVs for a more immersive sound.
The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 with Speakers + Bass Module and the Samsung HW-Q930B are both premium setups with versatile performances that will please most listeners. The Bose is a 5.1.2 setup with a much better soundstage, so you feel more immersed in its sound. However, it doesn't come with as many sound customization tools as the Samsung soundbar, and it doesn't support as many audio formats. Depending on your listening habits, you may prefer one over the other.
The back of the bar is rather plain. On one end, there's an opening for the inputs. On the other, there's an input for the power cable. Underneath the bar, you find the holes that let you mount it to your wall using the included kit.
The Samsung HW-Q930B has a great stereo dynamics performance. The bar gets loud, so it fills your room with sound. There's not too much compression at max volume, so audio reproduction is clear and pure even at loud volumes.
The Samsung HW-Q930B has an excellent latency performance. With relatively low latency, you don't notice a delay between the audio you hear and the video you see, even with lip-synching content. You can also connect the bar with compatible Samsung TVs via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and there aren't any noticeable issues with latency over those connections, either. Of course, different apps and TVs compensate for latency differently, so your real-world experience can vary. If you have any issues, you can use the AV Sync feature to adjust the latency manually. 2ff7e9595c
